These students decided to saddle themselves with piles of debt and aren’t even bothering to learn what they are paying out the ass to be taught.

Go into a trade if you don’t want to write essays. They pay well and we are very short of blue collar workers.

In theory. With this mentality you’ll probably have someone who intends to google/ask a chatbot how to replace a breaker panel and then try to do just that. This behavior may already explain the incredibly WTF work in repairs and new builds that is happening already.

        O, god, you are right.

On second thought, don’t go into trades if you have this affliction. I don’t want to lose my house and dog because you fucked up my electrical box and it set my house on fire.

The thing is…. They’re cheating themselves with this. Research and writing skills are useful to have.

I hope they get reported to the institutes’ office that deals with cheating and get expelled.

Yeah it says expelled on paper but in my experience no way are they kicking anyone out for cheating. Fuck I’ve never even seen anyone punished in any way shape or form for cheating at the college level.

In grad school, right before covid, I got hired as a grader for a term. I caught several students cheating on EVERY. SINGLE. ASSIGNMENT.

I flagged and reported it every time. Spent my own damn time documenting the evidence for cheating.

Literally nothing happened. I couldn’t even give them zeros on the assignment despite it clearly saying in the syllabus I could. They passed the class with no consequences.

      Big name state school university.

Wow. Tens of thousands of dollars and these little assholes are, well, being little assholes. This is like spending $30-50k on a car and yanking out the engine, smashing it with a sledgehammer, then clipping every wire in the vehicle while leaving the exterior pristine.

US education doesn’t do oral exams often outside of dissertation defense which is for masters and doctoral degrees. But at that level you’re not taking written exams so much either.
