(english is my second language)
I have multiple causes contributing to a terrible health/mind health. Found the cure in an unexpected way. Three months ago, I started walking 30mn ago just to move a bit. Decided to up the steps, and I went from 2k to 15/20k daily divided in two daily walks. Felt good immediatly (happy chemicals), persisted, now it feels even better and it lasts long. I used to suffer non stop mental & physical torture, these are all gone.
And thats just the tip of the iceberg. I also lost weight and I multiply new healthy habits, slowly but surely.
I used to rely on ADHD meds for peace of mind&body. In fact I was living for the meds and they were a lie, by that I mean 1/2 hours of feeling (too: mistakes) good followed by hours long anxiety comedown or repeated redoses.
Motion is lotion.

oh man at one point I lived about 3 miles from work. Perfect morning and evening walk.
I suggest you walk a fraction of your commute. If possible.
Well I don’t have it any more but actually it was about perfect. 45mins is doable (which was basically the time it took) and enough to actually get somewhat of a workout. Granted though I did not always walk it but it was the most common way I went. It kinda happened because I would walk and look back for the bus and one day by the time the bus came I was not that far from work and im like. heck with it. ill save the 2 bucks. then I kinda realized if the weather was good I did not need to bother taking the bus.
A good reminder! Imma take a walk right now!
Also as a suggestion, on your next day off get out of the city and go for a walk in nature. Next level benefits :)
Well i do walk in a park nearby, & i confirm nature, trees etc (and even better no podcast or non instrumental music so that ur mind can “go fallow”) makes walking much more therapeuthic.
Moving the body moves your mind
Yes. We’re designed that way.
