    Article literally doesn’t mention Pakistan once. In fact, the last sentence speculates that the purpose of the foiled attack was to draw Mexico into the war in Afghanistan, where Bin Laden was photographed for press releases in October and November of 2001.

    Why put Pakistan in there? Bin Laden wasn’t found to be hiding out in Abottabad until almost 5 years after this event.

      The wiki article states that the two IDF terrorists had fake Pakistani passports on them. It may be not enough to infer that they wanted Pakistan blamed. Though I imagine the plan was to flee the country after the bombing leaving only the record of their travel documents. So the title isn’t too far fetched.

      The news article suggests that they were trying to frame Muslims in general not Pakistan specifically. The idea being to draw them into the US’s war on terror. That the two were allowed go by a number of compromised officials is unsurprising.
