I’m not expecting anything, I wish they would give up on psvr2. It’s a cool party trick and conversation piece and that’s it. I want games to pay on my ps5, not remastered games from 3-5 years ago. I want new games in new IPs, I want new games in established franchises outside VR, I want to feel like my ps5 was worth the cost of entry. Sony is being lazy, releasing shitty hardware with the portal and low interest VR games. Give me some good shit, not indie trash.

I mostly disagree with your take.

      • PSVR2 is far more than a party trick and is arguably better than most PCVR headsets specs wise. There are games for it, you just have to look beyond AAA titles (and that’s a very good thing IMO).
      • Sure, I also want new games, new IPs and fewer remastered collections, but as someone who never owned a PS4, I don’t particularly mind the latter, provided the price is right and the upgrades are sufficient. New games take much longer to make nowadays and any title that’s not received as well as expected could have a huge impact on a development studio, established or not.
      • The Portal is a joke, but it could be interesting if it turns out to be somewhat of an open device (for emulation purposes) and the comfort is there. But as an oob experience… No thanks.
      • I really think Sony is 100% to be pushing for more Indie titles on PS5, especially as PS Plus Extra day one releases. There are gems to be found there.

We still don’t know what the majority of first party studios are working on. There are likely a lot of games in development. This is why the last Showcase was such a let down. We didn’t see shit.

      • Santa Monica
      • Bend
      • Sucker Punch (probably Ghost of Tsushima 2)
      • Insomniac (Finishing up Spiderman 2 and likely going to Wolverine but rumor has it there is another game in development)
      • Naughty Dog (Last of Us Multiplayer Game and probably TLoU3, but rumor has it likely another game also)
      • Bungie (Marathon and Destiny)
      • Guerilla (Horizon 3?)
      • Team Asobi
      • Bluepoint (rumored to be working on an OG game and not another remake)
      • Firesprite and Firewall (these are relatively new I believe)
      • Haven
      • Housemarque (Returnal 2 or something new)
      • London Studio (I’m guessing VR stuff)
      • Media Molecule (still dreams? They just released Tren)
      • Nixxes, Valkyrie, and XDEX (support studios and mainly helping with PC ports)
      • Polyohony Digital (just released GT7)
      • San Diego (MLB the Show)

We have a lot we don’t know. I don’t think Sony is being lazy. I think they are holding their cards.

Also, as enthusiasts we think the PS Portal is stupid. But I bet my bottom dollar they have done their homework and it will hit their targets. You know how many parents want their main living room TV back from their kids? Or kids that want to keep playing while Mom and Dad watch the news? A boatload. Sure you can use your phone and attach a controller, but normies like dedicated shit that is zero fuss. It’s just the truth. $200 this Christmas, shits gonna fly off the shelf. It’s a no brainer gift for any kid with a PS5. I bet most people who buy it don’t even know you can remote play with a phone already.

Whenever anyone claims that developers are being “lazy” I know their opinion isn’t worth anything
