IIRC the story of the art is that they originally wanted Peter Max, but it didn’t work out for some reason, so they went with a colleague who replicated ‘the look.’ Come to think of it, The Beatles themselves declined to do the voices, so again, imitators were found.

And regardless, it turned out a really effective film, and critically-acclaimed as I recall. I remember seeing it as a little kid in the 70’s, and it was impressive, but borderline terrifying at times.
