Usually I am sympathetic towards people losing their jobs. However, that goes out the window when their government is hostile and I am watching family struggle due to the trade war.
I just pray for NUKES 💥
Can’t blame anyone for this. During WW2 I doubt most folks were concerned with unemployed germans. I mean myself and many americans are nice folks and don’t deserve this but we many are not and do and many others just let it happen. Although don’t get to smug. peterson, McInnes, harper, fraser institute, freedom convoy. and its not just us. Murdochs from australia.
One of Canada’s first policies was to put a 30% tariff on the US. It worked well, US capitalists had to open factories in Canada and imports of farm and lumber harvesting equipment from the US shrunk massively.
I would say the US administration is less hostile than previous, at least they have given us an out from their trade agreements.
Some zero percent of that is accurate. It’s almost impressive.

I believe chapter 26 of “Colonialism and Capitalism Vol I” talks about this. To get the numbers. However you’re right I got the date wrong. It was his 2nd term.
As for the other part you don’t think Trump can get us out of CUSMA like he did NAFTA? He seems to have gotten us out of Biden’s plan of us making cheap cars for them. Biden also made a world cup bid that would see Canada and Mexico host the unprofitable games acting as though we are just states of his.
I wouldn’t call the current admin less hostile but Biden’s was not our friend on the economic side for sure.
