    Recently lost 20 mins over 90mins of windy mountain pass roads I barely got a chance to go above 60kph on, even in a WRX. Whole section of road was, for some reason, signed for 100.

    Oooh, I tried. But slowly more minutes added on. Realised the remote lack of traffic provided no stable data, so the estimated time was using the 100kph to determine ETA. Truth is, if you got a car to 100 on this road, you would very quickly go off the side of a mountain. If you’re a real good driver, you’d make it slightly further until you go off the side of the mountain because the brake pads were goo. Exiting a corner revealed another narrow blind corner you’d be taking in 2nd or 1st.

    I just had to accept it. It was a drive where I wouldn’t claw 5-10% off the original prediction Google gave.

    Relying on Google Maps is like going to a prostitute. Why use it when you can apply yourself?
