It is a rainy Sunday. Staying in with the kitties and making bread.
This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post office your own.
Thank you for these.
I’m probably losing my job. I confirmed with my company that I was OK to move away from Tokyo to the countryside and to have a second job. Now, they’re trying to force everyone back into the office. Even the two days per week they might approve an exception for is basically untenable for me due to cost. I am a registered Japanese farmer and have a legal obligation to use the land I’ve bought. I also can’t just sell the property (nor would I want to). I’m stressing out like crazy. I’m bad about talking about my feeling in general as I don’t always even think I fully understand them, so this is becoming a rather painful and humble experience. My family from the US was even planning to come next year but I don’t even know what will happen.
That aside, you post these so I also want to ask you: how are you doing?
Would it be viable to live off the farm itself? If you lose your job do you have to return to America? I wish we could move to another country, but our medical conditions would prevent us from becoming citizens elsewhere. So we are here for this ride whether we want to be or not.
This is only year 3 of farming on a fairly small amount of land so not really. I expect to lose money again this year since I’m still running experiments and seeing what works. The long term goal was to eventually do farming as a main job, but I was still years away from that.
My city is experiencing a once in a century flood atm. Our area is fine but the pictures I’m seeing are brutal.
Happy belated birthday!
I saw an ad for a new Playdoh release intended for adults. It’s called Blooms and it’s floral bouquets. Then I started learning all about how to sculpt with air dry clay. I have found the bob ross of clay and I love her. @RedRockingBird
