It has certainly met my expectations. While I’m not super stoked about the money store, I see no reason to be threatened by it, it exists for those that buy from it and otherwise I will continue ignoring it

Story has been great so far, I’m no where near the end and my power fantasy has been well met as a primarily bone Necro.

The production value is fantastic but itemization seems a bit dull to me. I was hoping for something to split the difference between D2 and POE in terms of no-lifing required, but it feels a bit closer to a very casual experience like D3. Also not a fan of the dynamic scaling, it’s awul to feel stronger in the same zone at level 10 than level 30.

But I’m optimistic, they’re going to be building on a solid platform. There’s tons of potential here.

Endgame is pretty disappointing. I got 2 characters 60+ and one character in the 50s, and there just isn’t that much to do. My builds have largely stopped evolving, upgrades feel boring (everything is just +% damage), and there’s just so much tedium forced between killing monsters.

I also want to level up the other two classes, but map exploration not being shared has sucked out all motivation to do so.

I’ll probably drop it for now, will maybe check out season 1 if they don’t force me to cap my renown again.

I agree that there’s too much walking in the open world/some of the dungeons (some dungeons have pretty great density, especially if you’re in a party). I do think that a lot of the legendary aspects are lackluster. Instead of simple % increases, it’d be better if they had a number that changed skill synergies (e.g. changing how the skills work/what effects they do). I think they wanted to avoid the Item Sets trap they fell into in D3 (which tended to do what I am describing), but to completely get rid of sets was kind of stupid, in my opinion.

That said, I’m still really enjoying the game overall. I’m almost done with Act 3, and while the writing can be iffy, the campaign story itself has been pretty decent and engaging.

Weirdly it’s inspired me to go play D2R. I play D4 with a friend online but I’m playing D2R solo. So I’ve actually now played 2 more than 4.

So far loving it but playing it super casually - only Level 46 so far.

I’ve been enjoying it a lot. It’s more Diablo and I think they did a good job of not reinventing the wheel. I like the darker tone of the story and art direction. The skill tree is a bit overwhelming but I’m excited to dig into builds as I level. I appreciate that re-spec is pretty cheap.

Yeah I’m also really enjoying the game! I don’t have too much time these days so it’s nice to hop on, do some quests for a bit, get immersed in this demon world with my Necro and then log off for a bit. World design / atmosphere is on point imo

I’ve never been able to get into ARPGs before D4. I tried all of them starting with D2 and none of them ever clicked.

With D4, I’ve played around a 100 hours so far. I’m starting to feel like I’m done for now, but that’s a lot of hours for a more-or-less-singleplayer game. But now that I’ve had this fun experience with D4, I think I should give POE another try - I feel like I might be able to actually appreciate it now, all thanks to Diablo.

I really like it so far. I’m level 45 (bow rogue) and am clearing up some side quests in act 3 before moving on in the main story. The presentation is stunning and game play works for me for now (I hope other classes don’t all rely on this charge up/release style of play though).

Talent trees seem ok, although I’m not sure how much variation there will actually be. Some skills really seem vastly more useful due to synergies that I can’t find with other skills. However I haven’t reached the higher levels yet and am mostly ignoring this whole legendary aspect thingy for now and I haven’t even unlocked the paragon stuff.

Love the game. The cash shop doesn’t bother me. I’ve already created some amazing outfits with just rares from WT1. I don’t mind cosmetics in games.

The sound, music, voice acting, art direction, lighting, combat, all feel great to me. I’ve got a half dozen friends who haven’t’ played games in years who came back in their 40’s to play this and we’re having a blast. And I’m making new friends as well. That hasn’t happened in over a decade for me in an online game. Probably longer. I have friends addicted to the SIDE quests lol. When was the last time that happened in a game lol.

Currently at lvl 69 as a Bone Spear Necro. Been enjoying it for the most part, but there are things popping up every now and again that are somewhat detrimental to the experience. Will be interesting to see the first big patch.

I really like it so far. 51 bone necro myself. starting to feel a bit lost now but still having fun. I think there is still plenty of thing I don’t get yet. Agree on the store.

I’m around 40lvl, just started Act 3. It’s a diablo, as I wanted to see it. It lacks some qol features. And sometimes its a bit tedious (maybe it’s just about me getting older). I played barb and necro on beta. Now my main is rogue and it’s not an easy point’n’click. I want more skill buttons (at least 5th for ultimate), but it’s interesting to test different builds. So, I’m totally happy with this diablo. Imo, it’s better than diablo 3 in many aspects. But a little boring visually.

I agree with the visuals, the game IS beautiful in its own way, but the muddled browns and greys make every zone kinda look the same across the continent.

Yeah. 3rd had more various and visually pleasing locations. I really want domething like jungles or the heaven. Didn’t spoiled it to myself, maybe they are latter in game. But I doubt.

Yes, I know Diablo 3 got a TON of complaints about the art direction but honestly my problem with it was always more about the World of Warcraft-style blocky architecture etc. rather than the colors. I always liked rather colorful games since they really make each area feel different and new, which is great when you’re playing in Adventure Mode and like to switch things up.

I think I would rate it as a 3.5 of 5 right now. It looks great and combat plays really fluid, and your character looks great! There are a number of issues underpinning it that together make me not as invested as I was with Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. I’m not super hungry for spare time to play Diablo 4 but I think it’s “fine”.

However, I think Blizzard will have some nice updates to come because my problems with the game is echoed by so many others, like itemization, skill and build variety and high-level end game progression. In these regards, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re looking at a vastly updated game already by autumn.

So that’s why I’m happy that the core of Diablo 4 looks and feels good because that’d be harder to fix than the spreadsheet-like data.
