I’m mostly trying to think of mostly benign or positive fads, even if they might have inspired some folks to do wacky or dangerous things on the extreme edges of the fad. I’m thinking stuff like beanie babies or bedazzling stuff.

I personally want to see some of the fashion fads from the 70’s come back, like bell-bottoms.

Kinder Surprise Eggs with proper complicated toys you had to read the instructions to put together. I would also like surprise eggs for adults with cool robots or something, but still encased in chocolate.

To see colored cars, not just Grey, white, black… there are so much Grey. Btw, even architecture too. I read somewhere that all this grey, boring lifeless things around us is to make more depressed and consume more… I miss hairstyles and 👗 that underlying feminine body lines. The point is that when I dress like that, the amount of attention is extreme. People looking at me like I dressed up for occasion or celebration. I can’t just go shopping or for a walk like a lady, too much attention, which is not what I like, but like to look nice.

You’d love the cars here. Pastels in peach or lemon or green. Or neons in yellow or green. Or classics like cherry red, burgundy, various shades of blue from sky to midnight. Or, increasingly, bizarre colour combinations because people are putting vinyl kits on their cars. And there was one white car in my compound that had an acrylic wrap that turned it into something that looked like cheap gold plate.

Neon colours. Arena rock. Tie dye. Sixteen hour long guitar solos in spacey psychedelic rock. Radio drama. Phones with keyboards. Computers that took less than 30 seconds to start up. Actual power switches. Changeable batteries.

I run Linux at home now (Mint).

It takes just as long to boot as my Windows 10 machine at work.

Edited because after a day at work my brain malfunctioned.

    Low rise jeans

Not quite like the super low cut of the early 00s, but I’m tired of all the high waisted everything. I can’t wear anything high waist because they irritate my surgery scar.

This includes workout leggings! So sick of not being able to find leggings that fit and are comfortable. I have to fold down my bike shorts so they don’t cause pain, but that’s uncomfortable too. I miss when flared low cut yoga pants were popular. They were so comfortable! 😩

They are back! I’ve seen young people wearing them!

And they’re not quite as low as the old ones, I know because I had been wearing my old pair from high school but they finally wore out so I bought a new pair and I’m no longer in danger of showing off the old whale tail.

They call them flared leggings now though.

Oh snap! You just made my day! I checked online and the flared leggings are exactly what I was referring to! Thank you so much 💚

Any suggestions on where to get them?

Do you have Ardene or Garage where you live? They’re sort of fast fashion type stores like Forever 21. Garage is definitely better quality (and fit, in my opinion) than Ardene but it’s also noticeably more expensive. I suggest Garage if there’s a sale.

I want neon colors again. I want the 80s neon and the 90s clear purple cases on everything. Green clear and orange clear was so much fun. Everything seems to be so boring lately. I want that pop back.

My sister randomly got me one of those cheap game platforms with the emulator packages. It’s got the clear purple shell. I didn’t realize how much I’d missed it!

I have a collection of hooded shawls which are the next best thing. I get compliments when the weather turns chilly enough to wear them. Be the change you want to see.

Honestly, maybe one that is a little weird, but I really miss the junkfood of the 90’s and the advertising and aesthetic surrounding it.

I have a pair of bell bottoms that I bought last year and they’re my favorite pair of jeans. They’re definitely making a comeback.

I splurged on some FreePeople low-rise bell bottom jeans. It was so worth it lol. Looks great in a pair of Converse, flip flops, kitten heels. Switch out your crossbody for a small shoulder bag. It feels like such a throwback. :p
