Alexander Wolfe, 39, suffered a fractured skull and multiple lacerations during the Aug. 10 attack at his South Hill home. Police arrested 25-year-old Shawn D. Jones, who is facing a first-degree assault charge. Prosecutors have also asked police to investigate whether the incident could support hate crime charges.
According to court documents and Wolfe’s account, the violence began around 4 a.m. when Wolfe woke to breaking glass and banging outside his home. When he went downstairs, he discovered someone smashing his glass storm door.
Wolfe’s fiancée reportedly heard Jones say something resembling “save the kids” while damaging the property. Wolfe and his fiancée also said they heard the word “transgender” before the attack. Small Pride flags were displayed outside the home.
5000$ bond for assault with a deadly weapon is insane.
From the other detailed coverage someone linked
Jones has no criminal history, according to court documents. He reported mental health treatment needs for schizophrenia.
This is downstream from the stochastic terrorism stuff. Right wing ghouls pump ideas out there about how trans folks are a danger, and eventually someone acts on it. The ghouls then go about their business with no consequences.
Trans friends, arm yourselves. Being targeted for violence changes the risk equation.
And do it before these chucklefucks pass some law that says trans people can’t own guns.
Won’t be difficult either - declare people are suffering from gender dysphoria, make that “mental condition” part of the mental health gun control restrictions.
Hey now, people being confused about their gender is extremely dangerous! If I didn’t know I was a dude I might wonder about the ambiguity of gender expression and open fire without realizing. Dangerous stuff! Meanwhile, don’t worry about the perpetually enraged Trump supporters with itchy trigger fingers, nothing to see here!
No charges for the attempted break in? Can I smash glass on someone’s house without consequence too?
Immediate charges and eventual charges don’t always match. But the fact that the aggressor was let out on a $5000 bond is wild.
Utterly sickening. That was a harrowing read, holy shit I feel so bad for the victim.
I hate this kkkountry.
Was the violent attack before or after they called the cops?
