They Live is a 1988 American science fiction action horror film written and directed by John Carpenter, based on the 1963 short story “Eight O’Clock in the Morning” by Ray Nelson. Just saw this in the theater. Also saw the original The Thing as well. If you have a chance, see these old films as they were meant to be seen, larger than life, in a dark theater, with big ass speakers. Regal theaters in the US run old films every month. Check your theaters for dates and times.

this movie is great in every aspect except maybe special effects… i mean it was the 80s. luckily they are trivial to the plot.
Someone should recreate the fight scene as a skit where a friend buys a buddy a new pair of sunglasses but he hates them so they fight about it for 15 mins.
Oh yeah that scene is legendary.
Saw this in the theater a few weeks back for the Fathom anniversary event.
Still excellent and unfortunately, still hits pretty close on its message about consumerism and control.
