I got banned from .world/“progressivepolitics” by the Hasan Platner cult.
The entire Platner worship is 1 to 1 correlated with Hasan fandom but they will go even further for Hasan. Most US lefties have zero principles.
piker seems to have more discipline than platner, so i suppose we should probably get used to his presence then.

Hasan started off well on Palestine in 2023 but he’s become a pretty large turncoat lately. He’s part of the DSA movement which loves nothing more than throwing Palestinians under the bus for some free healthcare for Americans. Palestinians are the easiest thing to compromise on after all. Kamala is working tirelessly or a ceasefire.

BadEmpanada has done infinitely more to push the boundary on acceptable debate for Palestine and anti-imperialism than Hasan Piker.
Now that I am with you, in regards to him continuing to be friendly to the Democrat party and becoming entrenched in the DSA. 100% onboard. And I love GDF’s work, too. Maybe I do have some work to do in sifting through all this. I def have not kept up with everything he has been saying/doing, but also for BadEmpanada. Ig my point is, this whole things smells of drama to me more than anything productive. Sure, criticize his words and wording, 100% fair. Criticize his hesitancy to completely separate from the Democrat party and involvement in the DSA, go for it, I’m with you. Labeling him a Zionist spewing hasbara? Bit of a stretch for me. I don’t think Israel considers him an ally or even a useful idiot. Not saying we shouldn’t demand better from influential figures, but I’ve never thought BadEmpanada does so in the best way.
