#62: Star Trek: The Animated Series, season 1, episode 6 “The Survivor”

Written by James Schmerer, directed by Hal Sutherland.

Stardates 5143.3 through 5148.7 (late 2268 to early 2269)

“It seems, Captain, that I’m more Carter Winston than I knew.” - Vendorian

The Enterprise finds a derelict ship with a single survivor while patrolling the Federation side of the Romulan Neutral Zine. That survivor turns out to be none other than Carter Winston; a philanthropist and explorer that went missing years ago. While everyone is excited to get to meet a living legend, especially Winston’s fiance who happens to be serving aboard the ship, Doctor McCoy is bugged by how Winston’s medical examination readings are slightly off. He initially writes it off as equipment error until random crew members (including himself) start suffering from narcolepsy and reportedly doing things they don’t remember doing.

Originally released: 13 October 1973

Pay no attention to the counter, I screwed up this segment of episodes so badly I’ll have to fix the main post next week. So the first batch of TAS episodes are first, but I’m posting them completely out of order due to a mistake in the work file I wrote years ago.
