Do you put a mug like this on a shelf and dust it once in while, or do you use it as a daily driver?
Personally, I’d use it. I’m not one for looking at knickknacks. Yes, that does risk breaking it. I once lost a special mug someone made for me, though I wasn’t the one who broke it. It wasn’t this nice, though.
I don’t think you expected that I am a pottery autist but that’s the risk you took lol.
I do not own this cup but going in my potter notebook as a future project mostly because I really like the use of the clay body texture to represent sand.

Comrade, I drink instant coffee mostly so I don’t get too fancy but one of the really fun things to do with pottery and beverages is experience how the vessel shapes the consumption experience! So I wouldn’t pick one type as every day unless I am drinking the same thing every day.

I understand wanting to protect treasured possessions but I think pottery is meant to be used.
