US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's remarks came days after Modi met Pezeshkian during the SCO summit in Bishkek on August 31.The meeting was the first in-person interaction between the two leaders since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28. Modi and Pezeshkian last met at the BRICS summit in Kazan in October 2024.
