Retirees and employees at Disney World are losing their perks under the new district board, which says benefits like park passes are unethical.

This is the opposite of what the biblical Jesus did.

          Says pay taxes to Rome.

Calls religious leaders a brood of vipers.

No, he pointed to Roman denari in a time when the area used multiple forms of coinage, including their own shekels, and said to a Roman spy to “Render unto Caesar’s what is Caesar’s,” and was eventually executed for treason and being generally obnoxious to the Romans. He also routinely called out religious corruption while demonstrating perfect knowledge of religious law, which, by the way, would have included extremely clear penalties for accepting the Roman Emperor as a god, refusal to do so being treason in the empire.

A skeptical sort might note that, to a rebellious territory that would launch a massive, religiously rooted revolt a few decades after his assumed death, while his new cult had spread like wildfire, “What is Caesar’s” might have two answers to a conquered subject and a Roman.

You might also ask yourself if the Roman Church might have downplayed certain aspects of his life while proselytizing and becoming part of the imperial establishment.

Firefighters — who once backed the DeSantis takeover — are among those furious about the changes

“I didn’t think the leopards would eat my face.”

benefits like park passes are unethical.

Wtf. Perks are win-win. It’s a trivial expense to allow employees to use existing company assets, but it’s very valuable to the employees. Boss gets happy employees for less expense. Both sides are happy. No, that’s bad because:

“Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God,” the passage began. “And those which exist are established by God. Therefore, whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.”

Ok, I didn’t see anything about perks there, but this logic supports gassing Jews (what the local authority wanted) and condemns smuggling them out of Germany (opposing God apparently).

    These people are dangerously insane.

Not surprised that the governor who went doctor-shopping for an anti-vax surgeon-general would also find an anti-worker religious figure to speak on his government’s behalf.

This is the entire reason religion still exists after all. It is mercilessly persecuted and subdued by those in power as long as it threatens them. Once they manage to get control and influence over the religion, they promote the hell out of it because it’s an easy way to control people.

Too many people forget that the Bible was written and edited by people who once controlled Europe. If course they didn’t want people to resist their authority. This is the problem with blindly trusting a source.

Is this park some sort of deity or what is going on with all of this stuff constantly being brought up?

I agree, it does matter in certain contexts like local news. But this is Workreform here, how does it matter in this context?

They’re stripping established earnings from the workers - essentially paying them less. How do you not understand this?

The workers are partially payed in being able to visit the park cheaper?

Yes. Cold, hard dosh isn’t the only way to reward someone for their labour, and work reform isn’t only about getting paid more money.
