They were all for it until it affected them, typical short sighted conservatives

Exactly. They bit the hand that fed them, and are now facing the consequences of that decision. Let me take out my violin for them

I’ll take out mine as well (which is a horrible sentence out of context 😄)

After a lengthy introduction, Pastor David Netzorg — who founded Emmaus Church in Winter Garden, Florida in 2011 — took the podium to start the board meeting on Wednesday night, said government work is “a calling” and government employees “actually work for God.”

That whole separation of Church and State is looking more and more like the twin cheeks of the same arse, isn’t it?

    Edit: it actually gets worse…

“So we’re to obey the police, firefighters, government, all of those in authority” Netzorg offered as commentary.

The divine right of cops. I think the US is headed for a dark place. Darker place, I should probably say.

Government by other people is useless and evil. 'Cos they’re not mandated by God. It’s right there in the handbook. Next to the bit about how Jews are responsible.

It’s useless and evil when the wrong people are in power. If the right people are in power, then it’s part of the divine plan of God.

The new board governing the land that belongs to Disney World had decided to strip the workers of previously guaranteed perks.  Last month, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board revoked all of the land’s firefighters’ free passes to the Disney parks and resorts. First responders told the Miami Times this made visits to the theme park unaffordable. “The removal of this benefit takes away, for some, their entire reason for working here,” a firefighter named Pete Simon told the Miami Times. The Disney firefighters’ union actually once backed the new board, rebranded from the longstanding Reedy Creek Improvement District, but now opposes it because of this move.

I’ll never understand union members that vote conservative/right-wing. Its because they lock in all thr benefits and then shit on new unionmembers who actually know how tough it is out there. I will dance at the foreclosure of any one of their homes when they get sucked into Qanon

Those family employe passes are pretty sweet. Problem is if you want to let someone into the parks you have to physically go out there.

Oh no to use your family pass’s benefits you have to……spend time with your family? The horror.

Don’t have to. Flash the card and you can get just yourself or guests in. But, after a few years it’s a *been there, done that’ type of thing. But, you get a special Christmas night with the family…used to anyway.
