Interesting idea I’ve seen floating around of not dropping Nketiah nor Jesus but instead resting Saka and playing Jesus RW. Not sure how I feel about it though, but Jesus would be very handy against Everton.
I like the idea but I think Mikel will refuse so as to not fuel the Achilles rumors.
Post-Match Ratings will be a bit late tomorrow, going to a climate protest (unless my voice is too dead from another protest I did today lol)
my voice is definitely too dead lol, can barely talk normally
Clean sheet for Raya, welcome to the fam laddie
Balogun has his first goal for Monaco!
I think I would like Bournemouth to win today.
Eh, I’ll take it
Nice little mid-table clash.
Lol a draw is the second best thing but Chelsea are still in crisis mode!
Just sayin, we could technically go second tomorrow…
Can’t wait to see how Vieira and Raya perform today.
Yessss, Fabio getting a start. The Dragonball boys ride again
Mikel Arteta saying that not even he has a guaranteed spot… imagine the scenes if we could sub Jover or AirPods into the technical area depending on the game
Can’t watch the game because we’re going to see Versailles. I hope it’s worth it :(
Arteta on Sky: “I think I mentioned that we wanted a squad with two quality players in each position with different characteristics, we’ve got that now. To maximise that, they have to play games, we have a lot of games coming up now. It’s the same with other players that we have rotated, they will get a lot of game time in the next few games.” https://twitter.com/afcstuff/status/1703427378834288677
It’s interesting; I think this means we’ll prioritise going long, but then why drop Havertz?
It’d be hard to argue that player performances get rewarded and continue with Havertz/without Vieira. Maybe him being subbed on during the match will give him more space to execute his instructions?
That I agree with. Sounds like he’ll be subbed on later, probably with Jesus?
And yeah, I assumed that he would keep the Havertz-Jesus duo together.
Mikel Arteta on starting Vieira over Havertz: “We always try to put the best possible team to start the game & then we have the ‘finisher’, that as you can see in every game, they are making a huge impact & we believe that today was better to start that way & we have a nice balance in the team.” https://twitter.com/afcstuff/status/1703428050166096229
Honestly, I’m worried that Vieira is better as a super sub and that they’ll adapt to him and negate him if he starts. But that’s just paranoia, and in the end he deserves the chance. I mean Trossard got to start and it didn’t work at all, Fabio should get to try as well.
Has been brought to my attention that Ramsdale did play midweek and that may be partially influencing why Raya’s playing lol
Since they mentioned it and about the stuff with Paul Heckingbottom yesterday, I do wonder if it would work better with a countdown clock of 45*2 halves instead
Probably would work worse but feel more fair
