Describing the “Jin, jiyan, azadî” resistance as a source of collective inspiration, Arab feminist and activist Shima Silavi said: “This movement brought the important issue of woman autonomy and her role in the political discourse and social life in Iran onto the political agenda. Women were at the frontline.”
