Okay, from experience, these toys don’t work this way. The device isn’t passively “on” 24/7 awaiting commands.
First you have to manually power on the device itself by holding down its power button. Only after that will it respond to remote commands.
All the modern ones also digitally pair with the controller to prevent crosstalk & exactly this kind of thing (which may count as sexual assault, depending on location). Buttplug.io has a ton of resources on the subject if anyone’s interested!
That’s really cool. So, buttplug.io is like a consolidated device controller? There’s so many apps, it’s actually annoying trying to remember which app goes to which device… and I saw there an interface to reroute game controller vibration to toys? That sounds very fun…

Yeah, as I understand it it’s basically a compatiblity layer that lets devs use a generic API to control arbitrary toys - has lead to lots of fun apps and mods for games, and an impressively monumental reverse engineering / signal decoding achievement. Lots of camsites borrow from it for their toy-chat interactivity.
