P.S if your country doesn’t have the freedom to roam https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom/_to/_roam there’s something inherently wrong.
What makes them difficult to pick? Thin skin? Specific harvesting process? I’d Google it but I’m trying to foster discussion, in a way.
I picked some today for the first time and maybe I was just very clumsy but it felt like they were very fragile and easy to squish, but reallly well fixed to the tree, so you had to put in some effort to pull the fruit apart. But again, it was my first time, maybe there was a problem with my strategy. Also, they’re very small and you have to pick LOTS of them. Right now I’m thinking on whether to dry them for tea or make a jam – either way I can’t wait!
This reminds me of the fruit arrangement of American beautyberry. The guidebook I saw called it “semi-edible”.
