Look it makes total sense. Belerus supports Russia in their invasion of Ukraine. So he signs sanctions he may or may not enforce against Russia and makes new trade deals with Belerus to hurt Canada. The country who has blindly supported the U.S. in every conflict for the past 100 years.
Oh and Belerus helps procure weapons for Iran… Who we are “not” at war with
Canada hasn’t “blindly supported the US in every conflict for the last 100 years”. They usually draw the line at the more pointless, politically motivated wars that the US ends up in…like Vietnam, everything Latin American and Iraq.
Canada didn’t “directly” invade Iraq, they just sent officers with during the invasion, flew on surveillance missions provided logistical support… Id call that supporting.
They also deployed warships during the Persian golf war.
They didn’t join in Vietnam though, so I should apphend my statement to they have supported the U.S. for like the last 50 years.
Hell when the U.S. invaded Panama in 1989, Canada was the only country in the Americas to NOT say it was wrong.
