I do have a working theory about their relationship.
Mamdani now has access to the secrets of NYC, as he exposed the Republican and Democratic cover up of toxic fallout in Manhattan after 9/11. Trump lived here his whole life, ALL his business dealings. Mamdani clearly has blackmail on him and is leveraging it to keep his hands off NYC. I don’t know how I feel about that, but it makes the .oat sense with what little we know.
