In case people were wondering why not Xorg, and why Wayland. Wayland simplifies a lot of the stack.
Xorg got to the point they were even shipping printer extensions nobody used.

When Wayland was originally being presented, they actually pointed out that things like this were a high risk in Xorg. It should be no surprise to anyone
