geez, the market sure took a tumble this week… though on the upside, the funds are at a good discount for buying 😎
I don’t love high interest rates and inflation generally speaking, but I always chuckle at the hysteria around the rate decisions that the Fed makes and the corresponding effort that everyone makes to interpret the Fed chair’s facial twitches for future clues.
I just keep my savings parked in a 5%+ money market fund and go on with my life.
Gym.
My local gym membership is $400 a year and I go 3-4x a week. Good way to stay active and meet people.
Dang! That works out to ~$2.50 per visit. That’s a pretty great deal!
What are your favorite low budget hobbies?
Hiking, although I did go down the rabbit hole of ultralight hiking/camping. That’s where you end up paying a premium for tents, sleep systems, and packs.
I do enjoy going to the library. We also have a few breweries around with a dog park so it’s pretty easy to grab a pint and sip on it while enjoying the weather for a few hours.

I’ve got very little free time these days period, but some of my low(er) budget hobbies include running, coding projects (did some fun raspberry pi projects with old hardware obtained from a local buy nothing group), and listening to audio books / podcasts.
For myself, my main cheap hobbies are taking long walks with my dog through the neighborhood and reading books from the library.
