This will be a place for us to share all the greatest synthrock we find across the web. Newer music is preferable, but synthrock from any era is welcome.
Bands and solo artists, feel free to post your own music too. However, please don’t spam us with too many posts or we may have to enforce some limits. Just keep it reasonable.
If you have the option when choosing a link to post, please follow this ranking: music videos > visualizers/lyric videos > audio only. Try to use only sources that are openly available, not requiring a subscription to access. I’ll post some more rules at a later point. But basically the same rules we used to have over on Reddit.
Welcome to all the redditors joining us from r/synthrock! I will primarily be active here from now on, unless some dramatic changes happen over there. We are a community, not property. And I didn’t create that subreddit to make someone rich, I did it because I love music, and I want to share it with people, as well as discover new things myself in return. This is the ethos of our community, no matter what hosting service we reside on.
What is “synthrock”? It’s any type of music that blends rock and electronic music. It could be dance-punk or new wave, it could be industrial or synthwave, it could be pop even, as long as it heavily features synths, keyboards, samples, and other electronic music hallmarks as well as a rock sensibility, preferably with electric guitars in the mix.
I can’t wait to see what happens here ❤️
