Literally only working a single 4 hour shift this week until Saturday, and that shift falls on the very evening that we play. Dammit. On the brightside I’ll get to see the NLD on Sunday.

Worth noting that UEFA competitions don’t follow the PL / WC rules on injury time. IMO a wrong choice but we’ll see how it gets on. Especially for the players having to adapt should be interesting.

I can just sense Arteta has cooked up a lineup that infuriates half the fanbase and elates the other half.

As long as he’s not playing Saka in goal or something I’m fine with whatever the gaffer does lol, he’s earnt it at this point.

Want to play Raya at 10 with Hein in goal? Want to play Declan Rice as CB? Sure gaf, whatever you say bud

I was thinking he either makes the lineup too strong and tires players before Spuds. Or makes it too weak and we have to play catchup in the second half.

I think our rotational players play here, and he’ll want them to prove that they can play for this team. If our rotational players can’t win or at least perform well in the group stage, how would they push into our first team?

There are lesser competitions still available (EFL Cup and FA Cup). Arteta is in a tough position because the game plan for PSV will require a balance between rotational players and starters. Either way he is gonna leave half the fanbase infuriated, especially if we’re chasing the game or one of the starters gets injured.

I wonder what kind of lineup we are looking at? Ramsdale back in goal, Tomi on the right and Kiwi getting slotted in.

We don’t really have many midfielders to change with besides Havertz. Maybe ESR but I don’t think Arteta would change things that much.

      My ideal is

      Ramsdale
      Tomi — Saliba — Kiwior — Zinny
      ESR — Jorginho — Havertz
      Nelson — Jesus — Trossard

if they can’t beat or at least play comfortably against PSV then honestly they probably shouldn’t be on our team anyway

Maybe not Trossard depending on how bad Martinelli’s injury is cuz I wouldn’t want him to play both this and the NLD after playing most of last game, slotting in Vieira instead and putting Nelson on the left if that’s the case

Dude said just don’t play any starters lol

If I’m Rice then I wanna play in the Champions League tbh. I think the Havertz/Viera decision depends on who is playing against Spurs, and I have a feeling we’ll see Havertz in the lineup against Spurs. So I reckon Viera will be playing tonight.

I also think Saka and Odegaard will play with the intention of being subbed off in the second half, knowing Arteta.

That’s fair, I just think the lads should be playing this game to show us what they’ve got before the NLD. Could see a stronger line up than this, of course.

Tbf he’s also been our first winger sub for a good few games, and we’re not rotating anyone else either XD

Raya again. Can’t say I understand but shrug not my job I suppose. Does feel a bit harsh — though not as harsh as not calling anyone up from the youth to the bench when we have an empty spot. I do think Raya could be better for this game, and certainly Ramsdale will be best in the NLD, but 🤔

I do know we played this morning with the youth but I feel like having one come over to the bench would be nice for someone.

I think it is time to accept that Raya is Arsenal’s new number 1. Unless Ramsdale starts against Spuds, which I doubt will happen. It hurts, but I partially understand Arteta’s reasoning after Raya’s performance against Everton.
