    I didn’t know this existed.

You can search for “pebble”, and everything else pebble shows up. Not the greatest name for discoverability.

Was linked to the website by searching “pebble social” and got the Wikipedia page, which had the website link.

Probably not a huge threat to anyone just yet?

    edit:

huh, going full opposite of twitter here

We look at your past social history to be sure you will enjoy Pebble, and then invite you in.

      Lol, good luck with that.

Why? Since Twitter went all binfire the big new rivals have all been established already.

    • Mastodon (if you like putting a CW on everything you post and have the inclination to dive into the deep end of federation),
    • Threads (if you want to move from one billionaire sociopath to another and only care for ‘content creators’), and
    • BlueSky (if you can get an invite and want to see Twitter with less Nazis and more sex workers).

I don’t think the world needs a 4th choice. And certainly not another centralised, ‘so generically named you can’t Google it’ clone.

It sounds like Twitter with more Nazis (and other adjacent groups) from what I’ve heard to be totally honest

Nah, it’s a lot more liberal than Twitter. So many right-wing grifters have tried to establish themselves on Bluesky and they just get hounded off by everyone.

There’s also several big community Mute / Block lists that get kept up to date for known nazi / bigot / grifters, so when anyone infamous joins up they get added to those lists and everyone who subscribed to the lists will just automatically mute those accounts.

Community moderation is something that sets it apart from Twitter.

T2 is a pretty big company in Australia and a couple other countries, so I surprised to see that being used not for tea. Obviously not the US which is the important part i guess.
