Well said. Currently waiting for my “repercussions” from not coming in specifically on my assigned days. Generally curious if I’m gonna get officially chastised considering 90% of the people I work with(including my boss) are not local.
There’s talk at my former employer of people not getting their incentives or bonuses if they haven’t been coming in on assigned days.
Lord forbid the workers have some comfort when they’re trying to live their lives.
Are you in the states? I’m not and I don’t fully understand “at will employment” but I thought that meant they can just go “nope” at any time and let you go?
Right. At-will essentially means both you the employee, and the employer, can, at any time for any reason or no reason, end the employment
It’s sort of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you the employee are not obligated to submit a notice period or do anything special to quit, which is great. On the other hand, employers can and often will drop people with zero warning.
