Four generations of cruel inbreeding went virtually unnoticed before authorities finally uncovered the world’s most incest family in 2012 - where they lived in filthy conditions on an isolated farm close to the Australian outback. The Colt clan - an alias given by courts to protect victims’ identities - was made up of 40 children, all feared to have taken part in sexual encounters with at least one relative.

Their family tree was like no other, with patriarch Tim understood to have fathered many of his own children’s kids and even grandchildren’s offspring. His wife June, who herself was the product of a brother and sister relationship, had seven children with him - Martha, Frank, Paula, Cherry, Rhonda, Betty and Charlie.
