According to one advocacy group’s calculations, less than 1% of Jamaica’s coastline is accessible to the public. Increasingly, everyday Jamaicans are being blocked from their beaches by all-inclusive resorts and hotels. Many of them relied on those beaches for their livelihood, so now some of them are suing companies and government agencies to get that access back.

    Terrifying. 1% of Jamaican beaches are accessible to the public. Stuff that. That’s revolution time.

      Could you imagine? Disgusting. I’ve always had aesthetic reasons for avoiding those types of vacations. Never realized it was such a moral issue.

      Yeah for sure, definitely a “treat activity” with tremendous consequences for local communities, no one is entitled to relax by forcing that old man to walk miles more every day to do the job he and his family have done for generations
