This is my first post on Lemmy so apologies if I screw it up! This is a bengal tiger from a recent trip to Bandhavgarh in India. We got to this waterhole fairly early and knew there was a tiger in the nearby area. As we had a prime position we decided to stay (a good decision as later we were surrounded by jeeps) on the off chance a tiger came down. After about three hours of slowly roasting in the sun it all came together perfectly. The sun was setting in the background so nice light, he decided to walk out on the little peninsula of mud, he looked directly at us and we were in the right place. I wish that happened more often with wildlife!

Excellent capture sounds like a great experience! What body/lens combo were you playing with?

Yeah it was a great trip. I was using the Nikon Z9 and the 400mm f2.8 with built in TC (absolutely stunning lens)___

Amazing photo. Must be incredible to see one like that in the wild.

Like most people, I’ve only ever seen one in a zoo.

Yeah it’s pretty amazing seeing them just wandering around. At least you’ve seen one!
