I think this is even valid for S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains in Berlin if I understand this correctly?

Meanwhile, a monthly travelcard in London, just for zones 1 and 2 (the two most central areas of London), costs £156.30 for the month, according to this - that’s €181.20 EUR.

Does anyone know if you can buy this with a Guthaben from a cancelled trip, or if it’s only possible to buy as a subscription with a credit card or german bank account?

The ticket can only be bought as a subscription, but 1months subscriptions are possible. The ticket can be bought at local public transport companies or the DB. They all have different conditions and some different benefits. The price is the same everywhere.

You should definitely be able to buy it with an international credit card or some other payment method.
