I wish to roam about the fediverse and see the sights.
I think so far Lemmy is small enough that i just set “all communities” and I find communities interesting (and less 🙂) and I subscribe to them
Yep, that’s how I’ve been doing it. There aren’t enough warm bodies on here to try and find niche communities yet.
NonCredibleDefense it’s a buncha memes about war and feminization of war. Originally designed to show that anyone including femboys can be blood thirsty killing machines because Chinese media painted the west as “They/Them Armies” Hillarious, inclusive and even unintentionally wholesome at times.
Occasionally get credible links posted there too. It’s hilarious and informative!
NCD is why I picked sh.itjust.works as my home instance
NCD already being here is how I knew I chose the right instance
NCD is unique to me because it seems to hold shitposters of every stripe and from every walk. Being truly non-credible requires a working knowledge of credibility, so it all balances out.
As far as I can tell, subscribing to a community instantly kills all activity in that community. I don’t think I’ve seen any activity in any of the communities I’ve subscribed to. So as far as I can tell Lemmy is a place people go to talk about which instances are defederating which other instances. I might stop logging in.
Sort by new and accept the fact that it doesn’t have millions of users and isn’t one of the top ten websites on the internet, contrary to Reddit.
Oh and subscribe to communities on bigger instances.
ive been enjoying ask lemmy and smaller communitys but im kinda in the same boat as you and i myself am also looking for lemmy places too.
I’ve been enjoying the meme communities so far. Unfortunately the smaller niche hobby communities don’t have traction yet but I’m having a good time.
PatientGamers, one of the communities that got me to make the jump off of reddit. It’s a games discussion
subredditcommunity with a focus on games that aren’t new or currently super popular. Not as far back as the retrogaming enthusiasts, though.Thats one of the first places I started commenting. Great idea for a community. I rarely buy games during the initial release so perfect for me.
