They can release as many headsets as they want — they’re still Facebook and they can still get all the way fucked.

Why does this feel like it’s already out of date? I guess the Apple one is just more impressive.

Idk about you but it just kinda feels like I’ve moved on from vr (speaking as someone with both the quest 1 & 2) so I kinda get the feeling your talking about. Prob not the same tho

For me beat saber is a killer app in VR. The experience can be replicated without VR obviously, guitar hero exists, but VR adds so much extra fun.

There’s other experiences that could be expanded upon as well to flesh out the gaming landscape more like eagle flight and falcon age. Or traditional puzzle games like the witness. It could be an indie paradise on VR.

    Looks like a good upgrade.

My main interest in these is for watching movies. A review I was just looking at mentioned ‘spatially anchored movies’ using the mixed reality feature.

Like it or not Facebook is probably going to be the main company doing good standalone VR headsets for a while. HP and ByteDance aren’t any better.

I’ve got the Q2, and I’ve heard the Q3 is like half the size and weight. If that’s true, it’s a decent upgrade - for me, personally. I don’t care about any of that Meta/Facebook shit, I sideload my APKs and neuter their monitoring and use it as a wireless display, a la Valve Index.
