An “evil” priest who spent years preying on young boys died at the age of 98 after refusing treatment.
Father John Murphy, who was diagnosed with lung cancer while in prison, died in a hospice on January 6. Murphy, originally from Kirkdale, had already served a sentence handed down in 2017 for sex crimes against four children in the 1960s and 70s.
