I am looking to get better at native app development so why not make an app to provide access to this community? 😁
Comment here if you want to join the beta testing group. I will post updates from time to time.
This Fediverse thing is blowing my mind a bit, I feel like I’m too old for it!
I’m here using Jerboa for Lemmy and this is my first comment.
I think this is going to be great. Tbh, I joined Diaspora a few years ago but never got into it. Things have improved.
Thanks for doing this, it’s great to be here. I’ll skip the beta but looking forward to trying the app.
Cheers!
This is a cool site that I would be interested in testing, but where can I learn the backstory of this software? Also, tbh I am very concerned without an email or any type of anti-bot protection that this site could be easily compromised. Btw, is this project something you’ve been working on for a long time or just recently?
I didn’t build the software for this site. It is built by a different team and it is called “Lemmy”.
What do you mean: without an email?
And yeah when the community gets bigger, I am sure bots will become an issue. But we’ll have to tackle that when it happens.
Thanks for creating this instance! I’m definitely interested in testing out your app as it evolves. Running iOS 16 on an iPhone 14 Pro.
i would like to join the beta when it comes, but i am on android without google and that app looks like apple with the bar at the bottom
It is actually a native app for both. But you’re right, I selected an iOS looking navigation structure. Would you have an example of something that feels more “android”?
cut out the bar at the bottom to make it look like it could be booth or replace it with “ᐊ ■ ▤” to look more android. it is litterally only the bottom bar that make me think of it.
You could also crop out the top bar so 100% of the picture is the app
I’d be happy to help.
I expect to have a minor beta by tomorrow evening. What mobile platform are you on?
Awesome - I’m on iOS, iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Cool I will let you know when I have something. Though in all likeliness the first beta will be read-only and unauthenticated.
I believe in testing early 😅
Sounds good - as incremental as needed, whatever helps. I think a good app really incentivizes using stuff like this (as we can see from people, me included, who are upset about losing Apollo and RiF from Reddit), so hope to test however is most useful.
I’d love to join the beta testing group!
I‘d love to be part of it!
