Anne Heche will appear on TV screens one last time this weekend.
Prior to her unexpected death at age 53 in August 2022, the Emmy Award-winning actress reprised her role as lawyer Corrine Cuthbert for All Rise. Now the OWN courtroom series is returnng Saturday for its final 10 episodes.
Heche’s character is expected return for a trial case in the episode, according to TVLine, which will conclude with a dedication to Heche:
“In Memory of Anne Heche Our Friend and Wonderful Artist You are Missed”
The All Rise episode with Heche, which was filmed in June 2022, has taken more than a year to air due to an extended hiatus for the series, which debuted on CBS in September 2019 before moving to OWN for its third season in 2022.
Heche died in August 2022 after she crashed her car into a Los Angeles home. The death was ruled an accident, with smoke inhalation and “sternal fracture due to blunt trauma” listed as the causes.
“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” a rep for the star told PEOPLE in a statement at the time. “Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy.”
Nearly six months after his mother’s death, Heche’s son Atlas Heche Tupper publicly paid tribute to her in honor of the release date of Heche’s memoir, Call Me Anne, calling her “the brightest person I’ve ever known.”
“She always knew how to solve a problem, or help a friend,” he said in a statement shared with the Los Angeles Inquisitor at the time. “She always knew the right thing to do. I cannot put into words how grateful I am or how much I miss her.”
The statement continued: “Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
Atlas’ father James Tupper — who dated Heche from 2007 to 2018 — also shared his memories of the late star at the time.
“Anne and I were together for more than a decade, we have a beautiful son together and in that time, she was the very definition of light in our lives, always bringing fun, love and energy,” he shared. “She will always be remembered in our hearts and minds.”
The duo’s tributes came following Heche’s older son, Homer Laffoon — whom Heche shared with ex-husband Coleman Laffoon — thanked the public for their “support” in January.
“First things first, from August to now, the amount of love, care and support shown by those on social media and IRL [in real life] has been overwhelming and blessedly received — thank you,” he shared, in part, on Instagram. “One day at a time is working for me as I’m sure the healing journey will be a long one. Your good thoughts and well wishes will continue to comfort me on my path.”
All Rise airs Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
