2 oz tequila blanco (Caralegre)
1oz Giffard Abricot
1oz lime
1/4tsp Amchur powder
1tsp lemon syrup
I do like green mango, and can perceive it in here. It made the color sort of muddy though, and did not incorporate completely, there was powder at the bottom of the glass. Tart at first sip, then the apricot and sweetness come through. The amchur is there at the finish. Tequila is lost, I don’t taste it in here.
Notes:
I mixed the amchur with the apricot liqueur first & let it sit awhile, measured in the other ingredients and strained it into the shaker to catch any clumps of powder.
Lemon syrup was made by mixing squeezed lemon peels with sugar & letting it sit around for a few days, then straining out the resulting syrup.
The blanco tequila, again and again, in everything, is because I sent husband to the store with a picture of what I wanted (tequila reposada) and he came back with the right brand but the clear one. Which apparently is smooth as fuck because I can’t really taste it in cocktails but it’s a good supporting player, they’ve been good mixed drinks. Would buy again.
