Can we let this platform die quietly and stop bombarding the feed with Elmo spam?

There’s a community dedicated to Musk stories called Enough Musk Spam. I post in it all the time and I wholly advocate keeping most Musk/Twitter stories off this community unless they are of significant importance.

I’ve added Lemmy filter keywords for Elon, Musk and Twitter, but that won’t stop headlines like these, unfortunately.

Sneaky bastards renamed it something that can’t be blocked with a word-filter unless you’re willing to block bunch of unrelated stuff aswell

Try filtering the phrase “formerly Twitter”. Most articles I see still add that after the “x”.

Didn’t work for this article. For that matter, you can just forego the “formerly”.

I second this request. I haven’t give a shit about Twitter since it first came out.

Downvote Musk spam. He will say/do anything to stay in the 24 hour news cycle.

The billionaire doesn’t need your help ensuring him and his businesses stay in the headlines every day. Don’t be a useful idiot.

Twitter was transformed into a far-right Nazi sympathizing cesspool of misinformation, indoctrination and hate. If you haven’t blocked all DNS resolutions for the site by now you’re doing it wrong. The site will eventually be shut down due to these facts, it will just take another j6-like event to do it.

X users are like that henchman in Austin Powers that refused to die, just kept updating everyone on his pain and slow death process. Just leave the platform or don’t, but stop being surprised at every new indignity, if there were ever a line that shouldn’t be crossed, it was left in the dust long ago.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

As Ivanovs points out, X owner Elon Musk has ambitions to enter the AI market with another company, xAI.

This leads him to theorize that Musk likely intends to use X as a source of data for xAI — and perhaps Musk’s recent tweet encouraging journalists to write on X was even an attempt to generate more interesting and useful data to feed into the AI models.

In fact, Musk has previously stated that xAI would use “public tweets” to train its AI models, so this is not much of a leap.

Musk also filed suit against unknown entities for scraping Twitter data, which also may have been for the purpose of training artificial intelligence large language models.

Musk essentially confirmed the privacy policy change, responding to a post on X to clarify that the plan is to use “just public data, not DMs or anything private.”

X no longer responds to press requests with a poop emoji as it had following Musk’s takeover of the social network.

The original article contains 399 words, the summary contains 168 words. Saved 58%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
