The smell of a pool is not chlorine. It’s products of the reaction that chlorine has with ammonia. I have never seen a pool that doesn’t smell like that. They also are why your eyes sting and turn red in the pool.
How do you see how a pool smells?
Also, was he planning on wearing that hat in the pool? I think not.
