Is Blender good to make a film? Sure. Many people do it.

Is making a film alone a good idea? Is such endeavour for somebody who is not patient?

Doughnut is 20+ videos, but doughnut is just the beginning. To make a movie you’ll need much much more.

I’d say you should do two things:

    1. Find out which part of film making you really want to do. Learn that part. Yes, it will be 20+ videos.

    2. Look for other people to collaborate.

Well you can find videos made with Blender. If the quality and style suits you you‘ll have the answer if movies can be made.

Regarding the learning. You might be impatient by nature, but there is a steep learning curve ahead… noway around. You have to decide if its worth your time.

Also: start with the donut! 20 Part tutorial where you can fast forward easy and obvious sections. I am believing in you!

Making a movie or short is going to be a long and timely process. Blender can be used to make a 3D, 2D movie or effects for a movie or short. You will also need to create a script and storyboard out each shot Learn to create modules, animation, effects, and edit audio and scenes. If you’re not into modelling you can always look at kitbashing 3D models, but you will need to pay for the modules.

If the Donut tutorial is to long (best one really for first time users) you can also look at polygon runway youtube channel and his tutorials

It’s not going to be significantly different from making a movie in another 3d program. If you want to make a computer animated movie (or just vfx for a filmed movie) it’s a solid choice.

Be aware that you need several specialized expertises to make all the parts of a movie yourself. The donut tutorial covers the basics of modeling and shading, but most of the work required for a movie will probably be in animation.
