      Bringing the outside edge closer a few cm in one small section of the track isn’t really a big reconfiguration imho

        It’s a change in track configuration. Don’t know how the FIA can claim it’s a safe track now.

    Am I right in thinking that modifying a circuit by moving the white line is unprecedented? In Indy 2005 they refused to make changes to the track (not that I can think of any that would have worked in that situation).

    It seems like a safe solution to a situation that shouldn’t have arisen, though.

      That was because of the politics between Michelin and Bridgestone. All teams had to agree to track changes like that back then and the Bridgestone shod teams refused to allow the change
