    My siblings and I worked out a system that essentially boiled down to first come first serve, but after at least an hour the others could ask for the remote. Any disagreement led to an informal vote on what to watch, the one with the remote had to oblige

      That seems way better than sitting on your sibling until they relinquish the remote!

        I was the oldest, so it was mostly me getting sick of sitting on my siblings every time I wanted to watch south park

    Back when I was a kid you would fight over the vice-grips you used to turn the shaft where the missing channel knob was supposed to be. The vice grips doubling as a makeshift cosh was integral to the conflict.
