In general AMD hardware is run better with Linux, because the drivers are open source.

A colleague of mine runs an Arch system that uses an Nvidia GPU and he says it runs largely fine.

Personally i had a nightmare using an Nvidia GPU on my Mint system, but that was in part because the monitor’s file that tells a comouter system what it is and what it is capable of was corrupted. Windows is fairly good at adapting to that but Linux not so much.

I think I’ve read that AMD network cards don’t work well with Linux. Might want to check that out.

Also, there’s a company that sells machines for Linux use called Tuxedo. Their prices seem decent and you know that they will be great with Linux since it even comes installed with their own distro.

It’s not so much about the brand, but if you are buying brand new parts, you need to make sure they are supported by the Linux Kernel. Latest version of Linux mint comes with kernel 6.2, that was released on February 2023. Hardware (CPU, GPU, wifi cards, etc) released after this date may not work directely after installing Linux Mint. You may have to do manual steps to update the kernel if you encounter issues.
