When they get to jaspers house you hear them say, “where is he we know he came here a few weeks ago” they had followed him there once and returned on the hunch that he may have came there.

it came to mind while i was watching the news last night with the conflict going on, just made me think of the ‘uprising’ scene in Bexhill (which was obviously written as a direct comparison to the gaza situation anyway).

Love the movie, my all time favourite

That’s cos D9 was about apartheid so you saw a modern apartheid state and saw a correlation.

Neil Blomkamp is South African. D9 was about the group areas act that removed people from their homes into townships all over South Africa.

I’m pretty strict on movies (5/10 = a solid movie, didn’t hate, will probably watch again, 6/10 = did some notable stuff, 7/10 = excellent, will absolutely watch again, 8/10 = outstanding, brought some new ideas or just did everything incredibly, 9/10 = masterpiece, 10 = ???)

      I gave Children of Men a 10. I don’t have many 10s.

Oh gawd I’m not on my computer so I can’t find my IMDB but from the best of my memory:

          Sunshine: 7

          Requiem: 10

          Event Horizon: 6

A.I.: Unrated because I don’t remember anything about it hahaha

I might have Sunshine and Event Horizon swapped, too. But Requiem was a 10 for me.

I’ll check out A.I. again. It was kinda boring when I first watched it, but I was pretty young when it came out and it wasn’t my style of movie. I think it would be now.

When I was younger I watched The Prestige and that was extremely boring to me, but on a rewatch I couldn’t keep my eyes off it. That one’s a 9, teetering towards a 10 now.

Oh shit, my most recent high rating: The Skin I Live In, 9/10. Holy fucking dick, very confusing and mortifying film. Presented perfectly and conceptually unmatched. Not for everyone… pretty much every content warning possible.

                  Loved it.

I gave both Sunshine and Event Horizon a 7, actually.

I’ve added What Dreams May Come to my watchlist—never saw that one!

The Prestige is about MAGIC. I find it to be a masterpiece.

Looking at my account, some highs:

                  Being John Malcovich: 9

                  The Lighthouse: 10

One Cut of the Dead: 9 (if anyone is reading this and hasn’t seen it, do NOT look anything up beforehand, and watch past the credits. GO IN BLIND. That is VERY important.)

                  Full Metal Jacket: 10

Dancer in the Dark: 9 (it even made me fucking cry, which nothing ever does except the ending to The Best Show Ever Made, Six Feet Under)

                  The Pianist: 10

Funny Games (American): 9 (highest rating for a horror movie from me, I think)

Fucking thankyou. 10/10 is metaphysical perfection. Was that smash burger from the guy with the cough really metaphysically unimprovable? Fucking really, Dan?

5/10 is worthwhile and respectable. Or it should be.

Much love. I rate games and albums the same way. Some of my favorite games, movies, and albums are 6s from me. I’ve rated things 9 that didn’t even really enjoy (Tár got a 9 from me and did not at all click, but I thought it was a masterpiece for whatever sense that makes.)

I hate most professional reviewers so much. Their “6 is shit and less is even more shit” scale is idiotic. I’ve got some 3s and 4s that I love… fuckin Terror Toons is a 2 and I couldn’t love it more.

Like reviewers, is Atomic Heart REALLY a 9-10?! Is Starfield a 9?! Fucking bonkers world in reviewers’ minds. DEATHLOOP a 10?? the fuck

As far as suspense thrillers go it was a good one. Not my favorite genre but it was engaging.
