Huh? I thought they were working on a Bond game, when did an “online fantasy RPG” come into the mix?

I hadn’t heard of a new Bond game. That would be awesome!

Wow, Xbox could end up with all the decent WRPGs

Yeah, very annoying for me (and players in general) but very well played by Xbox.

At least Microsoft will always release them on PC as well and PlayStation is still way ahead in like 3rd person cinematic style games like Spiderman, TLOU, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima etc.

Of course, all consoles have their pros and cons, but as a fan of RPGs, and a PS / Switch player, it’s a bit sad for me personally that MS is becoming the best place to play the western RPGs.

I don’t have a gaming capable PC, and I prefer consoles for gaming, so thinking about getting a XBox, but 3 consoles are just too much… but Xbox has Starfield! argh! (This is just my personal internal struggle, nothing against Xbox) 😞

Yeah, I have a Switch, an XSX and a gaming PC (from 2015…) so I basically just play on the Xbox and occasionally the Switch. The only game I really feel like I would really have wanted to play on PS was TLOU and maybe Spiderman but I’m not sure as I’ve never played them.

That said, the Bethesda acquisition was basically the only reason I got the XSX over the PS5, as Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim are my favourite games ever.

I find I prefer consoles too now, sitting at the computer after a long day at work sitting at the computer is the last thing I want to do.

Well, I have had PS+ since PS3, even though I skipped on PS4, so for me PS5 upgrade made sense. Had more than 200 / 300 games that I “owned”. Even then, Bethesda acquisition swayed me a bit.

Personally, I am very happy with Switch and PS5 combo, it’s just all the RPGs! Starfield, Avowed, Fable. MS not only got Bethesda, they got Obsidian, and inXile.

I really want Sony to make a AAA western RPG. I would still want an Xbox for the games above, but Sony is making really polished and good games, would love to see what they can come up in RPG genre, but they seems have gone all in Live Service gaming. Making 10+ live service games!

I really have no idea about PC world, but maybe you can play some of the old-ish PS games on your PC? TLOU for example? Or will they not work?

I’m not sure, I mainly use it for strategy games that are hard to play with a controller (although you can get Crusader Kings on XBOX apparently…) but even on stuff like Age of Empires 4 it struggles.

I also didn’t have a console before, so that didn’t affect my choice. I think if you had an Xbox One or a PS4 it was a lot easier to stay in the respective ecosystem due to digital copies of games etc.

Yeah, once you are a part of ecosystem, there’s a huge cost in giving it up.
