Not naming the suspect until they’ve positively ID him and formally charged him is pretty standard practice.
Attack happened at 11:40, official charges made at 2. So it’s not at all like they were withholding the name.

He was 71 yo and could get dementia plus-minus a stroke speeding it up. Another commenter in another thread quoted the father of this boy talking how this old guy built a treehouse for this exact kid before and never showed any signs.
