    You know he wrote his principia book in Latin because he didn’t want dummies asking him questions, only the snobbiest elite smart guys could even read the shit. He would not be a popular person in this day.

        Yea the catholic church that was very famous for their tolerance of science. Wrote some very nice things about him.

          He was also unpopular with English academics of his time. They didn’t dispute his beliefs, just his personality.

          Also the Catholic Church at the time was the primary patron of science in Europe.

            Yeah, Galileo didn’t get in trouble for his scientific views. The church asked him to write a book explaining the arguments for and against thr Copernican model, and he took that opportunity to insult the Pope.
